Install

Requirements

• Redhat 6.1 or later: Install the std. C++ libraries for gcc 2.95 from Mandrake (100 kB). On RedHat 7.0, you have to force installation (rpm -i --force filename).
• Debian 2.2: ok
• Mandrake 7.2: ok
• SuSe 6.4: Install package gppshare, if not already done.

Bugs

• Certificate generation
  Do not obtain new certificates with this build - they will be bad. If you already did so, invalidate them immediately.
• Root certs
  If certificates that Netscape Communicator 4.x recognizes are not recognized by PSM, copy ~/.netscape/cert7.db to ~/.mozilla/<profiledir>/ and restart Mozilla. You need an installed copy of Netscape Communicator 4.x for that.

Export restrictions

PSM software contains encryption technology that is subject to the U.S. Export Administration Regulations and other U.S. law, and may not be exported or re-exported to ineligible countries or to persons or entities prohibited from receiving U.S. exports. Ineligible countries are currently Afghanistan (Taliban-controlled areas), Cuba, Iran, Iraq, Libya, North Korea, Serbia (except Kosovo), Sudan, and Syria. Persons or entities prohibited from receiving U.S. exports include Denied Parties, entities on the Bureau of Export Administration Entity List, and Specially Designated Nationals. The PSM software may also be subject to import and/or use regulations in other countries.
